(Yes, this recap is arriving a little late… but better late than never, right? 😇)

The very first Voiceover Social Paris officially happened in September 2025, and wow. Just wow.

We had anticipated that with Paris being full of charm and voice actors being delightful humans that we would have a great time and a decent turnout. But we didn’t quite plan for the whirlwind of inspiration, laughter, and “let’s do this again immediately” energy that showed up. I still get that warm fuzzy feeling when I think about it!

We had between 60 and 100 voice artists join us over the weekend (we didn’t count heads… we were too busy talking 😅). We do know that we had voice actors from Normandy to Nice, Lyon to Lille, and even beyond France! We had English, French, Dutch, & Spanish voices! It was a real international VO party.

And by “party,” I mean:

  • Conversations that flowed like espressos in a Parisian café

  • Laughing until our cheeks hurt

  • Talking shop without ever feeling like work

  • …and some very dedicated souls who stayed out dancing until 5 a.m.

    Pure Commitment. We respect it.

Why the Voiceover Social Paris Matters

Voiceover work can be a beautifully cozy, slightly hobbit-like life  (had to get my LoTR quote in somehow🤓) when we record in our professional home studios.

We are fueled by tea, good microphones, and the occasional existential script.

So gathering in person?

Magic. Pure magic.

This weekend was a reminder that our industry isn’t just about performance and precision, it’s about people.

About community, not competition.

About cheering each other on, sharing stories, meeting new faces, and rediscovering the spark that made us choose this wonderfully weird and creative profession in the first place.

We had:

  • Commercial narrators

  • Audiobook storytellers

  • Dubbing pros

  • Animation lovers

  • Newcomers just beginning their VO adventure

And everyone fit perfectly, just like the right mic for the right voice! It really makes my heart happy, because it was a safe space for everyone.

The Voiceover Social Paris 2025 photos speak for themselves!

Smiles, hugs, “quick hellos” that turned into hour-long chats, and laughter echoing through La Felicita

SEO-friendly summary (for those crawlers and bots doing their thing): 🤖👀

The very first Voiceover Social Paris brought together between 60 and 100 voice actors from across France and Europe in September 2025 for a weekend full of laughter, connections, and creative energy. The event celebrated collaboration and community in the voiceover world, and set the stage for future editions — including the 2026 gathering in Paris. Co-organized by Stephanie Matard, Michael Ashtiany, and Estelle Hubert, with the support of Rob & Helen Bee from B Double E, who lead the original UK Voiceover Social meetups and Podcast.

Thanks so much for reading!

I’m Stephanie Matard, an American and native English-speaking female voice actor based in Europe.

I split my time between Normandy and Paris, and when I'm not behind the mic, I absolutely love connecting with fellow voice pros.

That’s why I’m so excited to help grow the Voiceover Social Paris community to help bring people together, one voice at a time.
